PLEIN AIR PAINTERS OF THE SOUTHEAST
August 27-30, 2009
Annual Workshop and Plein Air Painter's Forum
Cost: $400 ($450 after July 15, 2009)

The Plein Air Painters of the Southeast (PAP-SE) invites you to their annual three-day workshop, August 27 – 30, 2009, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Six expert PAP-SE instructors will offer their insights and know-how to help art students strengthen their painting skills and enliven their compositions. The instructors for this workshop include: Perry Austin, Loryn Brazier, Dee Beard Dean, Paula Frizbe, L. Diane Johnson and Richard Oversmith. An itinerary of the instructor times and topics will be forthcoming in next week’s update flyer

Plus… in an effort to promote camaraderie among fellow plein air painters throughout this region of the United States, PAP-SE is extending an invitation to all outdoor painting groups from Florida to Maryland to paint with us from August 25–30, 2009.

This is a call for plein-air painters to join PAP-SE at Leatherwood Mountains vacation resort for unprecedented painting and artist networking opportunities. If your goal is to learn, register early for our workshop and save $50.00 on the fee. Or, if you’d simply like to get away to a place where the scenery begs to be painted and other outdoor artists abound, visit leatherwoodmountains.com to view the location and inquire about cabin rentals.

PAP-SE has selected this glorious spot for their workshop and to host the first Annual Outdoor Painter’s Forum. The landscape here is picturesque — the amenities for socializing and relaxation are second to none. The attached flyer details contact information for registering for the PAP-SE workshop and cabin reservations.

This promises to be a weekend in paradise for landscape painters who crave the beauty of nature and seek the company of like-minded artists. We hope to make this an annual tradition, via both the workshop and outdoor painter’s forum. With a full house of participants, this annual event could become a popular art exhibition and summer destination for art collectors, media folks and landscape art enthusiasts from around the country.

Mark your calendar now—and reserve your spot for the workshop and/or on-site cabins—for the weekend or a full week in late August that promises to be educational, fun loving filled with painterly fellowship to last a lifetime.

Visit our newly designed website, PAP-SE.com for more info.

Hope to see you in August!
