Workshop Description:

.Originally from Nashville, Tennessee Roger has traveled and studied in many places across the United States. These experiences as well as history, nature, and architecture inspire his oil paintings. Roger is an avid "plein air" painter and has traveled coast-to-coast painting the beautiful scenery across our country. He also paints selected figurative, genre, and still lifes.

Roger has studied with accomplished artists Dawn Whitelaw, Scott Christensen, George Strickland and Everett Raymond Kintsler, as well through the writings and works of Edgar Payne, John F. Carlson, and Andrew Wyeth. He actively participates with professional art organizations including the National Arts Club, Plein Air Painters of the Southeast, the Cumberland Society of Painters, and is a member of Oil Painters of America, Allied Artist of America.

He most recently has been featured in American Art Collector in September 2007 and American Artist in October 2007.

Roger's oil paintings have been displayed in galleries throughout the United States and have won many awards. Honors include the Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition, Salon International, Tennessee Art League Juried Show, Central South Juried Show, and published by International Artist Magazine. He has donated paintings for select charity fundraisers and his works are owned by private collectors across the country and include many well-known celebrities and major corporations.
